I flew from Morocco to Italy, and the cheapest way to get to Rome was with a 24 hour layover in Milan. 24 hours is not a lot of time, but it’s enough to experience a bit of Italy’s fashion capital. Here’s what I would recommend to see, whether you have a ton of time, or very little:
Bosco Verticale
One of my favorite building in Milan is Bosco Verticale. This awesome building looks like a forest is trying to break out of an apartment building. So cool!
Royal Palace of Milan
Centuries ago, Milan was the center of its own empire, and has a Royal Palace to prove it. Milan’s Palazzo Reale sits to one side of the Piazza del Duomo, a U-shaped building with its own piazza in the center (called the Piazzetta Reale). Inside in a museum with the history of Milan.
Piazza del Duomo
This is the plaza just outside of the Duomo (Milan’s Cathedral).
