Luang Prabang, Laos has many beautiful temples and it could be overwhelming to see them all in a short time. If you need to limit your choices due to time, a good one to check out is Wat Xieng Thong.
NOTE: “Wat” in Laotian means “Temple”
Wat Xieng Thong is in a nice area in Luang Prabang with great architecture – so the walk is very enjoyable. It is also just steps away from the famous Mekong River.
Most of the temples have an entrance fee [not much] as well as a dress-code for women. If a woman is wearing shorts or a skirt above her knee or a shirt that reveals her shoulders, than she will be required to rent cloths to cover herself – one wrapper around like a skirt and another as a shawl.
